The following table lists the IPDET sessions that you should take to qualify for credit in the DPE:

PADM 5420: Policy and Program Evaluation
PADM 5113:
Research Design I (Qualitative)
PADM 5114:
Research Design II (Quantitative)
Two week Core Course

I-d. Qualitative Methods and Analysis for Development Evaluation (24 hours)
REQUIRED

PLUS ONE OF:

II-a. Introduction to Quantitative Data Analysis (16 hours)
REQUIRED* (see note 1)

And

IV-e. Intermediate Quantitative Data Analysis (24 hours)
REQUIRED

III-c. Case Study Methods for Development Evaluation (16 hours)
Or
III-g. Logic Models in Development Evaluations (16 hours)
Or
IV-c. Participatory Monitoring and Evaluation (24 hours)

T = approx. 70 hrs
T= 24+ (16 or 24) = 40-48 hrs
T= 16+ 24 = 40 hrs
  1. Participants who have a working knowledge of statistical inference and hypothesis testing may substitute a different quantitative option for II-a. Introdcution to Quantitative Analysis. Such a participant would take IV-e. Intermediate Quantitative Data Analysis (required) plus one of the following courses:

    Note: You may, of course, take other IPDET workshops, but they do not count for credit toward the DPE.
