Instructor Biography - Sulley Gariba



Sulley Gariba is President of the Institute for Policy Alternatives, a non-profit think tank in northern Ghana. Dr. Gariba has more than three decades of M&E experience in governance and development, which spans training, research, and consulting. He was the founding President of IDEAS, President of the African Evaluation Association (AfrEA), and has been an instructor at IPDET for over a decade. Dr. Gariba and the Institute for Policy Alternatives (IPA-Ghana) developed and applied a variety of citizen engagement tools to monitor and evaluate pro-poor policies under the Ghana Poverty Reduction Programs and also used citizen engagement tools to train Members of Parliamentary committees across Africa. He was senior policy advisor to the President of Ghana (2010-2014) and until January 2017 served as Ghana’s High Commissioner to Canada.
